Welcome

Welcome

Welcome to the St. John Bosco Catholic Elementary School community!

Thanks to everyone for such a great December.  Our Christmas concerts and special activity days were very well received.

As we move into 2026, we start the process of planning for the 2026-2027 school year.  On Feb. 2, 2026, our Intention process opens for families either staying at St. John Bosco, or moving on to Junior High.  As well, our Online registration process for new families interested in attending our school begins.

Our Early Learning Open House is set for Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026 at 6:00 pm in the gym.  Children and parents are welcome.

There will be a short presentation in the gym, and then parents and children will tour our 2 Kindergarten classes and meet the teachers.

If you are interested in learning more about our school for grades 1-6, there will be an opportunity for school tours this evening as well.

It's important to get your applications in asap.  We'll be screening applications that have all the necessary documents attached.  Plan to have copies of your child's baptismal certificate, birth certificate and copies of prior report cards (for Gr. 1-6).  Our morning kindergarten classes fill up quickly and we try to honour parent requests, but do to large numbers, students will be placed in either morning or afternoon classes to balance the numbers.  Incomplete applications will not be looked at.

On January 30 we celebrate the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with a special Celebration in the morning and a play in the afternoon from the Alberta  Musical Theatre company.  Parents are welcome to join us in the morning at 11:00 am.

Book

This year’s book “A voice Like Yours”  by Frank Murphy and April Growman, celebrates the uniqueness and power of every voice, making it a fantastic book for fostering confidence, self-expression, and empathy in students.

Our school motto, "Celebrating God and Youth", honors Saint John Bosco who is recognized as the universal ‘patron saint of youth’ and expresses how in keeping with the life of Saint John Bosco we celebrate God and youth each and every day.  At St. John Bosco School, we maintain high standards of academics and discipline in a nurturing, inclusive and faith-based environment; ensuring that all of our actions permeate faith, love and forgiveness towards building hope in all.

We foster and develop a close working relationship with our parents, our parish, and the greater community. We know your time with us will be memorable!
